K400
The K400 is the small one, and it is genuinely small: 341mm tall, 164 wide, 7.5 kilos. Inside is the same idea in miniature — a 150mm wood-fibre cone, a 45mm ribbon whose diaphragm weighs two hundredths of a gram, a transmission line folded into 18 and 24mm Baltic birch — and it still reaches 39Hz, which for a cabinet this size is the line earning its keep. It is the only Kerr with four M8 inserts in its back, so it can go on a wall or a ceiling, and the only one Kerr suggests for surround channels — and because its line exits at the front, the wall option is real. At 88dB into 6 ohms it is the least sensitive of the five, so give it real power. Entry to the range, not an entry-level design.
